Ivor “Monty” Montgomery Memorial Community Police Awards

Our Rotary Club was proud to once again host our Annual Community Police Awards, recognising the outstanding service, professionalism, and dedication of our local police members. This year marks 15 years of this Award, and we celebrated at the Northern Golf Club in Glenroy.

There were 61 attendees which included 20 officers from the Merri-bek Police Service Area, which is a fantastic attendance showing the level of esteem these awards are held by our police officers.

There were five very worthy nominations for the award, four highly commended and one recipient of the 2026 Ivor “Monty” Montgomery Community Policing Award. Thank you to the nominators for putting forward the nominees who carried out such a great role of community policing.

These awards are an opportunity for our community to acknowledge the people who work tirelessly to keep our neighbourhoods safe, support vulnerable members of the community, and respond with compassion during difficult situations.

On behalf of our Rotary Club, we extend our sincere appreciation and gratitude to all local police officers for their continued service and dedication. We thank them for the difference they make in our community every single day.
