Guest speaker: Mina from Youth Without Borders
We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Mina as our guest speaker. Mina is the External Affairs Officer at Youth Without Borders. Their flagship program, Spark Engineering Camp, is a week-long fully funded camp for high school students from non-traditional and disadvantaged backgrounds. Their mission is to inspire and empower students to see tertiary education and STEM as an attainable and exciting pathway.
Since its inception in 2011, 700+ students and 250+ staff have participated in the annual Spark Engineering Camp held in Melbourne and Brisbane, and its sister camp, Ignite Engineering Camp, in Auckland.
Mina is also a keen community volunteer and a former Rotary Interact member at the Rotary Club of Rosanna. She is passionate about improving access to education, building community capacity, and youth advocacy.
Thank you Mina for visiting our club!
