Rotary Overseas Recycled Playgrounds (RORP)

SPECIAL PROJECTS: Rotary Overseas Recycled Playgrounds (R.O.R.P)

R.O.R.P. is an Australian project that rescues decommissioned playground equipment from local schools and councils, saving it from going to landfill. The project was initiated by the Rotary Club of Flemington-Kensington.

Volunteers label and colour-code the equipment, dismantle, and store component parts until a shipping container load is available.

Component parts are currently stored at Law Court, Sunshine West until scheduled for shipping.

When this has been achieved, the container is shipped to a deserving community overseas, where local Rotary Clubs re-assemble it. The next R.O.R.P. container is destined for the Maldives.

The project operates with the support of Rotary Australia World Community Service and (RAWCS) Rotary Donations-in-Kind (DIK).
