Project RIMERN
Rotary Inner Melbourne Emergency Relief Network (RIMERN) is a multi-club Rotary project operating in inner Melbourne. RIMERN provides furniture, appliances, and homewares to welfare agency clients who have experienced homelessness, domestic violence, incarceration. refugee displacement and other crises.
The Rotary Club of Pascoe Vale is one of 22 Rotary Clubs from Rotary Districts 9790 and 9800, that help fund operations and provide valued volunteers. Member Rotary Clubs make an annual financial commitment of $1000 x 3 years and provide two representatives on the management committee and organise volunteers from both within their Club, and wider community, to help with the many tasks needed to operate the service.
RIMERN collects donated furniture, appliances and homewares at its East Brunswick warehouse, where it is cleaned, sorted and made fit for purpose before being made available to clients. RIMERN ensures that all donations are clean, operational and working safely. The donated items are made available to clients referred by member welfare agencies and programs as they are assisted in secure housing after a range of crises.
RIMERN supplies about 8 to 10 house lots to homeless people each week.
