Our 50th Anniversary Community Celebration Day
Yesterday Pascoe Vale Rotary hosted a community celebration for our 50th anniversary– 50 years of proudly serving our community. Thank you to everyone who stopped by!

We started the morning with a Peace Pole ceremony at nearby Rogers Reserve. Thank you to everyone who attended. Peace Poles carry the message May Peace Prevail on Earth and serve as silent vigils, reminders of human unity, and symbols to transcend political, religious, and cultural divisions.
Local children painted canvases for the Little Lives Art Show, where every dollar from the sale of art helps purchase the NICU bed. We’d also like to congratulate Jude, whose project 100 Canvases For Little Lives has raised the target $7500!
October 24th is World Polio Day, and each Rotary club had the fun challenge of choosing how they would use the official End Polio Now and PolioPlus baton. To symbolise that we still have a hill to climb when it comes to eradicating polio, the baton travelled from Pascoe Vale Station, and ‘up the hill’ to Sussex Neighbourhood House. And thank you to everyone who entered the Purple Pinky lolly jar competition, the correct answer was 383!
Community spirit is what it’s all about and we’d like to thank everyone who helped make the day possible:
– Sussex Neighbourhood House in Pascoe Vale for their wonderful venue. Please check out all the great programs they run, or drop in any time for a coffee and a chat.
– Country Women’s Association Pascoe Vale branch. Always the best baked treats in town! Thank you for joining us.
– The wonderful team from SES Fawkner. Volunteers dedicated to keeping us all safe here in Merri-bek and Hume.
– Brunswick Communities for Nature kindly donated plants indigenous to our area (the Western Volcanic Plains) which helped raise money for fighting polio.
Again, a huge thank you to everyone. We love meetings people in our community and hearing your stories!
