Guest speaker: Rotarian Jason Doyle on his police career
We kicked off the new Rotary year with a guest speaker: Pascoe Vale Rotarian Jason, who spoke to us about his career with Victoria Police. Jase gave us a fascinating glimpse into life behind the badge and shared stories from an extraordinary career in policing.
Jase described some truly harrowing incidents that tested courage and resilience, to celebrating successful outcomes that brought justice and hope to victims. It was a thought provoking and eye-opening reminder of the dedication and sacrifice of our police force.
We were also treated to stories of overseas adventures, working alongside police forces from around the world such as a SWAT team in the US, and assisting and experiencing different approaches to law enforcement and community policing.
As a retired officer, Jase also volunteers with organisations such as Code 9, a registered, volunteer-run charity in Victoria dedicated to supporting professional first responders (police, fire, ambulance) and 000 operators who are battling mental health injuries like PTSD, depression, and anxiety.
Thank you Jase for sharing your remarkable journey with us. Your honesty and openness about the mental and physical health tolls is greatly appreciated!
