“One of the features of the art Show at Coburg Town Hall on 18th and 19th March,1989 “Australian Outback Artists”, promoted by the Rotary Club of Pascoe Vale and Coburg Arts and Crafts Group, will be local artist Mrs Joan Lane painting portraits of Mayor, Murray Gavin on Saturday 18th March and on Sunday 19th March, ex Mayor, Sam Gandolfo.
Art work from Elders Fine Art Galleries of Adelaide, the suppliers of art for viewing and purchase, consists of work by artists such as John Guy, Pro Hart, Sir Patrick Kilvington. Seigfried Schneider, Jack Absolom and Hugh Schulz”.

Extensive coverage was arranged with the Coburg Courier newspaper featuring the raffle and an article and photo of artist Joan Lane with a portrait she had done of the Mayor, Murray Gavin. Newspaper advertising designed by Marco Prandl was very professional.
The enormous support and assistance by Jim Elder from Elder’s Fine Art Galleries is recognised. Also recognised are Rotarians Noel Colliver and Bruno D’Aprano who met with Jim in Adelaide and arranged every detail of this year’s exhibition.
The catering and ticket selling by the Rotaract Club of Pascoe Vale is acknowledged and recognised by a donation of $400 by the Art Show Committee to the Rotaract Club.

Rotary Club of Pascoe Vale and Coburg Arts and Crafts Group combined to form Coburg Arts Services Group to present the 3rd Annual Art Show, at Coburg Town Hall.

Rotary Club members provided support in setting up and running the exhibition. Coburg City Council provided facilities as for last year.
Committee investigated whether select group of artists could be invited to enter works directly. There was a poor response and the committee reverted to the previous format.
Elders promised bigger selection of artists, and provided posters and invitations.
The Art Show was officially opened by Alan Sartori, a Greensborough artist and guest exhibitor.

Sales of paintings ($30,751) which resulted in profit from the Exhibition ($2000)

Rotary Club of Pascoe Vale and Coburg Arts and Crafts Group combined for the 4th Annual Art Exhibition at Coburg Town Hall.

The Art Show was a financial success mainly due to Don Ross in raising sponsorship money ($6700). Sales were up 28% and overheads were trimmed.
Sales of paintings ($39350) which resulted in profit from sales of paintings ($7555).
Support from Coburg Arts and Crafts Group in setting up for the exhibition was noted.

The Chair of the Art Show Committee Brian Slane and Rock Pinder headed the task of putting on an Art Show in uncharted waters in the City of Melbourne. The Venue was an enormous success. The Show was beautifully presented. The advertising brochures were very attractive and professional and the general organisation was second to none.

The show was opened by the mayor of Melbourne with Willie Gudipi in attendance from Arnhem Land.
The Show lasted 6 days with 54 paintings sold. The most sales ever recorded by a Pascoe Vale Art Show, but with an overall average than in previous years.
A big thank you is extended to all members of the committee for the most professional show that we have ever put on. The Art Show unfortunately for the first time was not a financial success It is believed that the club will lose about $6000 on the project.
