Rotary Inner Melbourne Emergency Relief Network (RIMERN)
Our club is one of the member clubs supporting RIMERN. RIMERN is a multi club Rotary project operating in inner Melbourne, providing furniture, appliances and homewares to welfare agency clients who have experienced homelessness, domestic violence, incarceration, refugee displacement and other crises.
Our members can be found taking clients around to ‘shop’ for goods to furnish their homes, making up linen sets, packing crockery and cookware packs, and lending a hand when the warehouse needed a little freshening up with some new paint!
Rotary Donations in Kind
Rotary Donations in Kind is a vital program that channels essential goods and resources to communities in need, both locally and internationally. Through this initiative, Rotary clubs collect and distribute items such as medical supplies, clothing, school uniforms, school materials and classroom furniture to organisations that can put them to immediate use.
Our club members enjoy a variety of tasks at Donations in Kind, such as driving the truck (or serving as jockey!) to pick up donations like ultrasound machines, or packing boxes of new school uniforms to be sent to children around the world. Filling shipping containers is fun too!
Supporting Nourishing Neighbours
Nourishing Neighbours was founded in 2020 to provide a wide variety of culturally safe and appropriate food to those experiencing food insecurity in Merri-bek and surrounds. Nourishing Neighbours is volunteer run and partners with major Victorian food relief and rescue agencies to provide its services.
Members from our club have helped out with jobs such as installing a water tank, maintenance tasks, and arranging for the printing and installation of the official signage.
Nourishing Neighbours is an important community service, and we are proud to have been of service.
Supporting community events and initiatives
Our club members can be found supporting many community events such as awareness days, fund raisers, marches and more.
We believe in standing with our community, promoting unity, and supporting causes that reflect our values of service, inclusion, and compassion. These gatherings give us the opportunity to show solidarity, listen to diverse voices, and build stronger relationships with the people and groups we serve. By participating visibly and respectfully, we reinforce our commitment to being an active, positive presence in the community, not just through our projects, but through our shared presence.
